The Pretty Bird by Stephanie R. Crow

Once upon a time there was a bird that was very pretty but everyone else said, “Get real, you’re pretty but you’re not cool enough to hang out with us.”

The bird did not know how to be cool or anything like that. But the bird went to her cool friends and they said, “For you to be cool you have to be mean.”

The bird thought in her head, “Well, I don’t want to be mean - I want to be very nice to everyone.”

So the bird went to a different place. The bird did not know what the heck to do.

“(Sigh) I guess I could never be cool, only nice and pretty.”

Then the bird went to talk to her friends. They disagreed with being nice with her because she was the only bird in the world that was nice. So then she told every bird in the world that you should be nice.

Some of the birds liked the idea and went into her lead. Then the cool birds started joining in because they believed that following groups was cool. So then every bird soon was nice. And she was also cool by making a group.

The people now that have birds have very nice ones and we hope it stays that way.
